Rear End Collision Involving Two Semi’s on Interstate 70 Result in Two Deaths

A semi driver and his passenger were killed after a fiery crash involving two semitrailers on Interstate 70 just east of Indiana 46.  The crash occurred about 5 p.m. in the eastbound driving lane. According to a preliminary investigation, an eastbound semitrailer had slowed for construction zone traffic when it was suddenly struck from behind by a second semitrailer, which apparently failed to slow down, according to Indiana State Police Sgt. Semi Rear-Ends SUV Resulting in Interstate 65 Crash

Five people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 about two miles north of the Indiana 46 exit.  According to Indiana State Police reports, a trooper was making a traffic stop on the northbound shoulder at about 4:20 p.m. near the 70 mile marker.  A car, SUV and tractor-trailer merged into the left lane to yield to the trooper. The semi, driven by Padlo Mariusz, 44, of Arlington Heights, Ill. struck the rear of the SUV which was being driven by Kelly C. William M. Harrison of West Lafayette Dies in Construction Accident in Shadeland, Indiana

A 911 phone call from a lot near 300 South and Henry Street in Shadeland came into the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department shortly before 9:28 a.m. Wednesday morning, stating that a concrete mixer had rolled into a pool.  According to Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department Lieutenant Ron Faith, construction crews were trying to fill a dug out pool with concrete when the earth embankment caved in and the truck overturned into the pool.  William M. Marla L. Fry of Valparaiso Killed when Semi Runs Red Light

A 2009 Freightliner owned by Old Dominion of Thomasville, North Carolina, pulling double trailers was westbound on U.S. 30 early Tuesday afternoon, in the right lane when the driver, Roberto Sanchez, 52 of Charlotte, North Carolina, started coughing.  Sanchez's co-driver was asleep in the sleeper berth of the semi.  According to reports, Sanchez began coughing uncontrollably and while he realized the light for westbound traffic had turned red, he was unable to stop, hitting a SUV traveling south on 600 West, driven by Marla L. Edna Mast of Goshen Dies in Three-Vehicle Crash on Dangerous Stretch of State Road 13 near Middlebury

A 2007 Freightliner semi driven by James Everett of Three Rivers, Michigan, crashed into two cars on State Road 13 south of the intersection of County Road 24 Monday afternoon around 2:30 p.m.  Goshen resident, Edna Mast, 68, was pronounced dead on the scene in the chair-reaction crash.  Witnesses say that Mast had slowed to avoid a bicyclist and a 2000 GMC Jimmy, driven by Donald Smith, 38, of Elkhart, also slowed. Arnold O. Rexroad Killed when Semi Jackknifes in Hendricks County

On February 14, 2012, a semi driven by Arnold O. Rexroad, 64, of Effingham, Illinois, became disabled on the eastbound shoulder of I-70 between mile markers 51 and 59, near Monrovia, Indiana, in western Hendricks County, and was hit by a second semi. Rexroad was in the process of being towed when a 2003 green Freightliner, pulling two trailers and being driven by Richard C. Maples, 60, of Wilmington, Ohio, lost control of his semi on wet pavement caused when his second trailer jackknifed.  The second trailer struck Rexroad's semi from behind and pushed the disabled semi forward into the wrecker. Accident in Carmel at 111th Street and Pennsylvania Kills Meyer P. Nahmias

Meyer P. Nahmias was driving his Cadillac northbound on Pennsylvania Street when a car being driven by John Charles Nickel, traveling west on 111th Street, did not stop at the stop sign and collided with the Cadillac.  Nahmias, an 85-year old man, was pronounced dead at IU North Hospital from the injuries he sustained from the crash.  Nickel, a 90-year old, was treated at St. Vincent Hospital located on 86th Street. Accident on Indiana 25 Injures Four

Thursday's snow created hazardous road conditions on Indiana 25 three miles northeast of Delphi when a vehicle driven by James McCartney of Logansport lost control of his van in Carroll County and hit a pick-up truck driven by Cepeda Williams of Logansport.  McCartney's passengers Haley Utterback and Joseph McCartney were ejected from the van.  Utterback was flown to Methodist Hospital and Joseph McCartney was transported to a Lafayette hospital.  Williams was taken to Logansport Memorial Hospital with shoulder pain and his passenger, Benjamin Pena, was taken to IU Health Arnett with back pain.  Read the full article at JCOnline. Michael Hoover of Logansport, Indiana Died from Truck Accident

Michal Hoover, 61, was driving in his car on Ind. 25 near 100 South in Fulton County early in the morning.  His car was struck by the trailer of a southbound semi-truck at about 6:40 A.M. The driver of the truck was Jay Voigt, 44, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jay's semi-truck entered the northbound lanes for "unknown reasons", states the press release from the Fulton County Sherrif's Department. The semi-truck then hit another driver, Timothy L. Wilson, in his pickup truck while we was waiting to turn. Michal Hoover died at Parkview Hospital today, according to Fulton County Sheriff's Department's email communications...

I-465 Semi Accident injures Gregory Lacey and Zachary Wright

Starr Austen & Miller is investigating a semi accident on I-465 injuring Gregory Lacey of Marble Hill, Georgia and Zachary Wright of Cicero, Indiana. In addition, another person was killed as a result of the accident. On September 21, 2011, around midnight, Wright was on the side of the road on I-465 near I-74 working on a disabled vehicle he was occupying.
