Jacob (“Jake”) O’Brien graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and, later, from Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, summa cum laude, before returning to Logansport, his hometown, to join Starr Austen & Miller, LLP. Jake was sworn in as an Indiana attorney in 2013 and is admitted to practice Indiana state courts, both the Northern and Southern District Courts in Indiana, and the Seventh Circuit.
Jake represents both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court in a vast array of civil litigation contexts, with particular focus on commercial disputes, fiduciary misconduct and negligence, securities fraud, and civil appeals. From pre-litigation planning through trial and appeal, Jake guides his clients through the entire litigation process with poise and clarity.
Jake previously served as president of the Cass County (Indiana) Bar Association and is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Jake and his wife, Ingrid, live in Logansport with their four children.
